A Franklinton man has been sentenced to life in prison for the aggravated rape of a 6-year-old girl.  36 year old Stanley Green was found guilty of aggravated rape and sexual battery of a victim under 13 by a Washington Parish jury last month.

Aggravated rape carries a mandatory life sentence.  In addition to that, Green was sentenced to 40 years in prison on the sexual battery charge. Assistant District Attorney John Alford has also filed a multiple offender bill against Green, who has a prior felony conviction. Under the bill, Green’s sentence could increase to from 49 to 198 years on the sexual battery charge.  A hearing is set for Tuesday, December 8th. .

Green was charged with aggravated rape and sexual battery in January 2013, after the girl’s mother reported the incidents to police. The mother reported that her daughter  was left in Green’s care twice and says he forced the little girl to perform oral sex on him and touched her sexually. The mother says she confronted Green, then reported him to authorities a month later.

During the investigation, Green allegedly confessed on video to inappropriate behavior with the girl, who is now 10 years old. .
