Suspect named in fatal CBD shooting

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for a 19-year-old man in connection with a Monday homicide in the Central Business District.

Daris Darrell England was named Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Richad Dowell. The shooting happened at about 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of Canal and South Rampart Street.

During the course of the investigation, England was developed as a suspect. His last known address is in the 13600 Dwyer Boulevard in New Orleans East and he is known to frequent the Fischer Housing Development in Algiers.

Once apprehended, England will be booked with second-degree murder.
