New Orleans Police investigating shooting death of man in Algiers

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are investigating a shooting incident in Algiers that left a 25-year-old man dead. The incident occurred Sunday around 8 p.m. in the 2600 block of General Collins Avenue.

According to police, responding officers arrived on scene to find the 25-year-old shot, sitting in the passenger seat of a car which crashed into a pickup truck. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say that the officers also found the 20-year-old male driver of the car on scene and noticed he was hurt as a result of the crash. He was brought to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The investigation into the incident continues.
