Houma man arrested after shooting at three men on Pitre Street

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

A Houma man was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder after police say he fired shots at three men standing in front a home on Pitre Street.

Police say shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday three men said they received a threatening call from Trenton J. Dupree, 18, of Ethan Street. In the call Dupree said he was coming to collect money owed to him from a previous drug deal.

Authorities say when Dupree came to the area he fired several shots at the three men while hanging out the passenger window of a car. One shot hit a parked car in the area.

After he fired the shots, police say Dupree and an unknown driver left the area in a silver Dodge Stratus.

Dupree was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday night at his home on Ethan Street. He is charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and taken to jail.

Investigators are still seeking the identity of the driver of the car used in the shooting. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Houma Police Department or Bayou Region Crime Stoppers at 1-800-743-7433 or www.crimestoppersbr.org. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
