NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Air travelers looking to upgrade from coach without paying business and first class prices will have a new travel option in 2016.
American Airlines announced Wednesday it is creating a new Premium Economy class. The new travel class comes with extra leg room, wider seats, personal on-demand entertainment, enhanced dining and more.
The airline plans to phase in Premium Economy to all Boeing 787-9, 777, 787, A330 and A350 aircraft. The first planes to get it will travel international routes in late 2016.
The airline has not said how much the upgrade will cost compared to regular coach seats.
