NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Tulane has found a new head football coach.
Georgia Southern coach Willie Fritz is expected to be officially introduced as the Green Wave coach sometime next week.
Fritz, 55, led the Eagles to an 8-4 record this season and a 6-2 record in the Sun Belt conference.
Georgia Southern will play Bowling Green in the GoDaddy Bowl on Dec. 23.
LSU assistant coach Frank Wilson was also contacted about the job, according to sources.
Fritz replaces Curtis Johnson, who finished 15-34 in four seasons at Tulane.
