NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - It looks like you will be able to turn holiday dinners into crawfish boils.
Mild conditions outside are bringing crawfish to the surface. That's keeping seafood restaurants stocked with crawfish earlier than usual.
"The quality is pretty good too," said Bevi Seafood Company Chef Justin LeBlanc. "The price will always remain high until after Lent. It is a dollar or so cheaper this December compared to last December because of the availability and the quantity that's coming out. It's not spring time production. But, it's a lot for December."
We found live crawfish selling for $3.49 per pound. Boiled crawfish was selling for $5.49 per pound.
