THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) - A Thibodaux man was arrested Wednesday after being caught with items stolen from a former employer, according to Thibodaux police.
Kenny Rogers, 29, of West 10th Street, faces charges of simple burglary and remaining in a place after being prohibited.
On Wednesday at 6:47 a.m., the victim discovered that someone had forced their way into his business in the 1600 Block of Canal Boulevard and made off with a television and DVD player.
Police learned that Rogers had been fired by the victim a week before the burglary. Police located Rogers on Housing Authority Property from which he had been banned. During questioning Rogers denied burglarizing the business, instead claiming that he bought the stolen items from a "crackhead."
Police also learned that Rogers planned to sell the stolen property, but if he couldn't, he was going to give it to his girlfriend as a present.
Rogers is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $50,500 bond.
