One man killed, another wounded in Marrero double shooting

MARRERO, LA (WVUE) -

One man was killed and another wounded in a double-shooting, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department.

Just after 8:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 4000 block of Ames Boulevard in Marrero.

Officers found the bodies of two men suffering from gunshot wounds, lying in front of an address in the 4000 block of Ames Blvd.

One of the victims, identified as Keyon Sonnier, 29, of the 4000 block Ames Blvd. was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at University Hospital.

The second victim, identified only as a 35-year-old black male, of Marrero sustained a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.  His injuries are considered non-life-threatening at this time.

Crime Scene technicians recovered a number of spent shell casings in the area where the victims were discovered.
