NOPD investigates two early-morning armed robberies

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating two armed robberies that happened shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday.

1:14 a.m.  near Ursuline and Royal Street a 36-year-old man was approached by two men. One pulled a gun and pointed it in the victim's face.

The thief demanded the victim give up his belongings and the victim complied. The men then fled.

The suspects are described as two black males. There was no other description given.

The second robber happened about the same time in the 1900 block of St. Ann Street.

A 42-year-old man was approached by a man with a box cutter. The perpetrator led the victim to an ATM, where he made him withdraw cash.

The thief, described only as a black male, then fled the scene.
