The Krewe of Claude starts on Jan.10 at 1 p.m. in Slidell. It starts at Berkley Street and Spartan Drive. The parade takes the traditional route through Slidell.
Claude has paraded through Slidell since 1987.
Marry Ann Hicks, a charter member of the krewe said the organization, which has paraded since 1987, is proud of its roots as the city's only African American parade.
The krewe, whose president is Mark Avery, is seeking new members. Tickets also are available to the annual ball. For more information or tickets, call Mary at 985.607.5819.
