Landrieu administration agrees not to remove Confederate statues before January hearing

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Mayor Mitch Landrieu's administration, which aims to take down four Confederate-era statues in New Orleans, has agreed not to remove any of the monuments prior to a hearing, according to court documents.

Four organizations filed a civil suit claiming that the mayor and the city violated federal laws in the decision-making process to remove the statues. The organizations are seeking a temporary restraining order. A hearing to discuss the TRO is scheduled for Jan. 14.
