Trio arrested for trying to break into New Orleans East home

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police arrested three males for trying to break into a home in New Orleans East. The incident occurred Sunday around 12:25 p.m. in the 4700 block of Deanne Street. 

According to police, witnesses saw the trio casing a house within the block. The witnesses then saw the three males putting on gloves and climbing the rear fence of the home. Neighbors startled the trio who then began to run towards Downman Road. Witnesses immediately notified police. 

Responding officers noticed the three walking in the 6000 block of Downman and as officers approached the men, they ran. Officers set up a perimeter and eventually found the three inside a store in the 4000 block of Downman Road, where they were taken into custody.

Witnesses later identified the trio and they were booked with attempted residential burglary. 

The three suspects were identified as 17-year-old Deante Patton, 17-year-old Kenneth Alphonse and a 16-year-old male.
