Slow start hurts Saints in 35-27 loss to Lions

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Looking to feed off of the momentum of last week's win over Tampa Bay, the New Orleans Saints were hoping to make it two in a row with a victory over Detroit, Monday night. The Lions had other ideas taking advantage of the Saints' struggling defense, coming away with a 35-27 win.

Drew Brees led the Saints (5-9) with 323 passing yards and three touchdowns on 33-of-51 passing. Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead finished with 10 receptions apiece.

The Lions (5-9) were led by Matthew Stafford who went 22-of-25 for 254 yards and three touchdowns.

The Saints return to action Sunday at home against the Jacksonville.
