NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Buyers will get to bid on the 133 vehicles for sale, all of which have been discarded on neighborhood streets or left unclaimed by residents with excessive parking fines and fees. The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works is holding its sixth abandoned vehicle auction for the year.
According to a press release, buyers will need to pay a $50 administrative fee. It results in a notarized title at the time of payment, which helps streamline their purchases. That means buyers no longer have to take all of the documentation to the Division of Motor Vehicles to apply for a new title.
The auction takes place Tuesday (Dec. 29) at 9.a.m., at the Almonaster Auto Pound, located at 10200 Almonaster Avenue.
Vehicle preview day and buyer registration is on Monday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. No one will be admitted after 3:30 p.m. for security reasons.
