NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police responded to four shootings on Christmas day, one of them fatal.
According to preliminary reports from NOPD, five people were shot in four separate shootings on Dec. 25.
The first shooting occurred at an unknown location around 3 p.m. Police were notified that a 31-year-old woman had been shot in the back and brought to the hospital by private conveyance. Police said she would not cooperate or give any information on where the shooting occurred.
The second shooting occurred around 9 p.m. in Mid-City. According to a preliminary report from NOPD, a 33-year-old man was shot while sitting in a vehicle in the 4000 block of Tulane Avenue.
Less than an hour later, a 37-year-old man and a 60-year-old man were shot outside the Shell gas station at 9201 Airline Highway. According to a preliminary report from NOPD, an unknown black male shot at the 37-year-old, then shot the 60-year-old while he was in a moving vehicle.
Police are classifying this shooting as an attempted homicide.
Around the same time, at about 9:50 p.m., a man was shot and killed in Mid-City. According to NOPD, officers found a 26-year-old man dead inside his car with multiple gunshot wounds.
No suspects have been named in any of these shootings.
