Marrero man sought in Slidell shooting

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - A Marrero man is being sought in connection with a Christmas Eve shooting that occurred outside a Slidell barber shop, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said 26-year-old Justin Hutchinson was in a verbal argument with a 37-year-old Slidell man in the 400 block of Voter's Road at about 7:15 p.m. when he pulled a small-caliber pistol from his waistband and fired twice.

One of the bullets struck the victim in the stomach. A bystander drove the victim to Slidell Memorial Hospital, where St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputies were notified.

Hutchinson fled the area and is believed to be on the south shore. Investigators said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

There was no word on the victim's condition.

Anyone with information on Hutchinson's whereabouts is asked to call Detective Steven Chiasson at (985) 726-7824 or 911.
