ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Residents of St. Tammany Parish who want to participate in the Christmas tree recycling program have to drop off their trees in either Covington or Slidell.
The parish says it does not offer curbside collection.
For those who live on the western side of the parish, trees can be dropped off at the St. Tammany Parish Fairgrounds in Covington. Citizens are advised to use the entrance by Lyon Elementary. People who live on the eastern side of the parish and take their trees to the old Levee Board building in Slidell located at 61134 Military Road.
The trees must be bare with no ornaments, lights or tinsel. Flocked trees will not be accepted.
The deadline for dropping off trees is January 29, 2016. Trees may be dropped off between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
