NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans Police are searching for an Algiers man who has been reported missing. Timothy Day, 45, was reported missing Wednesday from his home in the 900 block of Whitney Avenue.

According to police, Day's sister told authorities that she has not seen or heard from her brother since he left his home on December 1, 2015. She also said that it is uncharacteristic of her brother to go missing and that he is not taking any medication for a mental illness.

If you have any information that could help locate Timothy Day, you are asked to call the New Orleans Police Department at 504-821-2222 or NOPD Fourth District Detectives at 504-658-6040.
