Another Uptown couple falls prey to armed carjackers

Elderly couple robbed; car used for volunteer work, stolen

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A second carjacking within a week has hit an otherwise quiet area of Uptown.

The incident occurred at 8:17 p.m. Tuesday in the 2400 block of Pine Street.

A man and a woman,  43 years old, were approached by a suspect, described as a black male. The suspected demanded their car keys. The victims complied and the suspect fled in their vehicle.

This incident comes on the heels of a carjacking involving an elderly couple Saturday night in the 2000 block of Lowerline Street.

There, the couple, ages 79 and 85, were sitting in their car, when two men, armed with handguns, walked up and demanded money. They then ordered the couple out of the car and fled in the stolen vehicle.
