NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Sunday started out cloudy once again, but by late afternoon we finally had a chance to see a little sun. Two upper disturbances are pushing by the area and as they move east our clouds are breaking.
Temperature-wise it's still chilly with highs in the middle 50s at most locations. We can expect morning lows to be a tad bit cooler Monday morning in the 30s on the North Shore. Monday will be sunny, but cold still with highs topping out in the 50s as cold high pressure sits across the area.
We will get an opportunity at a freeze Monday night into Tuesday morning with clear skies and light winds. It will be a light freeze in most locations away from the lake and coast on the South Shore.
Some North Shore locations can expect temperatures in the upper 20s. Plan to bring in the pets and cover plants, but that should be all that's necessary with this cold snap. It doesn't last too long with gradual warming through the week and another shot at thunderstorms Thursday.
