MANDEVILLE, LA (WVUE) - The Krewe of Eve begins on Friday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. in Mandeville. It starts at the intersection of Ashbury Dr. and Highway 190. The parade heads west down Emerald Rd. and turns left onto the W. Causeway Approach. It travels to Monroe St. and crosses N. Causeway Blvd. to the E. Causeway Approach, where it travels to the intersection of Highway 190.
In 1986, six local residents decided to form a ladies' Mardi Gras Parade Krewe. After many weeks of gathering information, they gave a party and invited local women. From this gathering, the Krewe of Eve started with 260 ladies.
The Krewe of Eve first paraded in Mandeville on February 14, 1987, with their first theme, "Famous Lovers". In 2011 Eve celebrated their 25th anniversary with the parade on February 25th.
While our organization is noted for its beautiful parade, Eve members also participate in many community projects. Through Eve, our members contribute to Greater Mandeville Police Foundation Gift Give-away and The Food Bank. We have helped with Habitat for Humanity with the Women's Build. We're also part of the D.A.R.E. convention.
