A joint effort by several law-enforcement agencies aims to keep everyone safe this Carnival season leading up to Fat Tuesday.
The FBI, along with the Louisiana State Police, the NOPD and the Office of Homeland Security want to raise awareness before the parades begin. The streets will be filled with people and the message is simple. "If you see something say something."
While there is no terror threat here, everyone must remain vigilant. Authorities want the public to constantly look for suspicious activity.
There is a dedicated tip line for calls. That number is 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324). There is also an app that you can download called "See Send."
The public is reminded that although this joint law enforcement effort is to report suspicious activity, anyone with an emergency is encouraged to CALL 911.
Beginning Friday, FBI teams will hand out business cards and flyers.
