WASHINGTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office on Wednesday arrested a Bogalusa man on two counts of aggravated crime against nature.
Detectives began their investigation 68-year-old Johnny E. Sandifer after a victim came to the sheriff's office and reported that Sandifer had committed crimes several years ago. Detectives said several other people came forward to give witness statements that supported the victim's allegations.
The Sheriff's Office isn't releasing any other information about the nature of the allegations, citing the sensitivity of the case and the need to protect the victims and witnesses.
"This is a tragic case and I am grateful to our detectives for handling it in such a professional manner. Based on the circumstances of this matter, Mr. Sandifer is where he should be—in jail," said Sheriff Randy Seal.
Sandifer was booked into the Washington Parish Jail, and bond was set at $800,000.
