HOUMA, LA (WVUE) - A drug bust in Houma ended with four people in jail Tuesday and five others on the loose.
The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office said its narcotics task force obtained warrants to search three buildings near the intersection of Lafayette and Academy streets following an undercover investigation.
Deputies said someone holding a pistol at a home in the 200 block of Academy Street initially resisted them, but deputies were able to subdue the suspect. At the same home, Ryan Austin allegedly tried to throw a gun loaded with Teflon-coated bullets and a bag full of drugs out of the back window. Investigators said the travel bag contained heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, liquid codeine and pills.
Ryan Austin, 32, and Elvin Mills, 29, are in custody, facing obstruction of justice, weapons and several drug charges. Deputies also arrested 32-year-old Ryaneshia Austin and 45-year-old Shaun Austin on drug distribution charges.
