Dense fog advisory for the area, highs will hit 70s

(WVUE) -

Dense fog has settled into the area and will last through the morning commute. Drivers should allow extra time to arrive at their destinations this morning.

A dense fog advisory is in effect for the area until 10 a.m.

Highs today will reach near 70 degrees despite mostly cloudy skies. Overnight will be relatively mild, and more fog is likely.

Another upper disturbance will sweep through early on Saturday. Heavy rainfall and possible thunderstorms will begin in the early morning hours and be done by midday.

Colder air will follow for late Saturday through Monday. Freezes are likely on the Northshore Monday and Tuesday morning. Some frost is possible south of Lake Pontchartrain.
