NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A major road project in Mid-City is already causing headaches for some drivers, and it's only just begun.
The work started on Monday and is expected to last until March 31, 2016.
State highway workers are lengthening an acceleration lane on the entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound at Carrollton Avenue. The work also includes strengthening the traffic sign truss.
Traffic is being forced into one lane and it's creating backups.
Drivers trying to get on the I-10 Eastbound from Airline Drive or those trying to use the Howard Avenue exit will be impacted by this work.
