HOUMA, LA (WVUE) – The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left one man injured Saturday morning.
According to Sheriff Jerry Larpenter, officers were called to the Ashland North subdivision around 12:30 a.m. in reference multiple shots fired in the area. A 911 caller says moments after the gunshots were heard, a vehicle struck a traffic sign before coming to a stop in the 100 block of Santa Monica Drive.
Officers discovered a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. There was nobody else was inside the vehicle.
The victim was sent to Chabert Hospital and then transported to University Medical Center where he received treatment for her injuries. He is listed in critical condition.
Police were unable to provide additional details, but say the investigation is ongoing.
