NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A mix of showers and scattered thunderstorms associated with a cold front began moving into the area around 3 a.m. A few of the storms warranted a Severe Thunderstorm Warning due to strong winds and the possibility of small hail.
A few isolated strong storms along the coast are still possible as rain continues to push east. By 9 a.m., we will start to dry out and clear out leaving a pretty nice Saturday ahead. Plan for it to be breezy and mild today with a major cool down arriving overnight.
Highs on Sunday will struggle to get out of the 40s. Freezes are expected across the north shore on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Highs during the day will be around 50 Monday and mid 50s Tuesday. Gradual warming by midweek with another rain chance by next Thursday.
