Two robberies reported overnight in Mid-City

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Preliminary reports from NOPD put two armed robberies less than two blocks and 30 minutes apart from each other.

The first robbery was reported near the corner of S. Gayoso and Palmyra Street around 5 p.m. According to preliminary reports from NOPD, an unknown, armed man rode up on a bicycle and stole $150 cash from a 37-year-old man walking in the area.

The second occurred about 30 minutes later in the 300 block of S. White Street. A 27-year-old woman was walking down the road when a man armed with a gun approached her from behind. The armed man demanded the victim's purse. She complied and the robber fled on a bicycle.

Both reports are preliminary and may change as the investigations develop.
