NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - After a rocky start to the morning we ended up with a pretty fantastic Saturday afternoon. The sun came out behind morning storms and temperatures topped out in the low 70s. Colder, drier air is moving in as the cold front actually sweeps across the region tonight.
Temperatures will make it down into the 40s and some 30s overnight. The upper level low will not completely push past us until late Sunday leaving us overcast. That will keep very cool temperatures in place Sunday with highs in the low 50s.
Monday morning expect freezing conditions both sides of the lake. The National Weather Service may issue a freeze warning as some will see 20s, Monday morning. Tuesday will remain cold with a slow warm up moving in late Tuesday night into Wednesday. The next chance form rain comes in late Wednesday evening into Thursday.
