MANDEVILLE, LA (WVUE) - New developments in the case involving the Mandeville mayor cited last week for public urination.
Fox 8 has learned that Causeway police video and audio recordings of the incident are being turned over to the St. Tammany District Attorney.
When the station requested the video this week, the attorney for the Causeway notified us that the video recordings could not be released because they "pertained to pending criminal litigation, reasonably anticipated criminal litigation, and pending legal claims."
Mandeville Mayor Donald Villere asked the officer who cited him "for a little help" after urinating on the northernmost cross over on the bridge last Thursday night.
He also called Causeway General Manager Carlton Dufrechou twice after the incident, asking for "consideration." Villere says he suffered from a history of bladder difficulties. He said he was surprised to receive a citation for an issue he says many men deal with.
