Rummel cornerback Kristian Fulton has all the big name schools in the country lined up for his services.

With national signing day right around the corner, LSU, Florida, Arkansas, Miami, Texas and South Carolina are his top six. LSU is the only in-state school that has a shot at landing Fulton, and he admits fans want him to stay close.

"I do feel like, especially since they're one of my top schools, everyone is pulling me to go there," Fulton said. "They all want to see me close to home, watch me play."

With the questions surrounding Les Miles' future finally answered and "The Hat" staying for now, recruiting has not missed a beat.

"Obviously it helps him staying there," Fulton said." We built this relationship for almost two years now ... since I was a sophomore. I pretty much got comfortable with Coach Les Miles over there. We're real tight, he knows my family. It wouldn't have made a big difference, but I'm glad he's still there."

Most recruiting services list Fulton as a top ten corner nationally, but his coach says the six-foot star can deliver so much more to a program.

"He's very humble, very team oriented, doesn't bring much attention to himself," said Rummel Head Coach Jay Roth. "Just hard working on the field. Last weekend Richard Sherman of Seattle tried to block an extra point, starters aren't usually on special teams. That's something Kristian would do, put me on special teams. Put me on kickoff return, put me on kick coverage. Great leader in the weight room, sets examples for everybody. They're getting a fine leader, a fine kid."

Fulton starts official visits this weekend. First on the list: LSU.

It's an ending that's still hard to comprehend. But lost in the aftermath of the Saints chaotic loss to the vikings Sunday was the fact that the Vikings still had to kick the extra point.
