NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A Louisiana representative wants state lawmakers to come up with rules for parishes, cities and other Louisiana government entities interested in removing confederate-era monuments.

Minden democrat Rep. Gene Reynolds says the bill he's working on won't necessarily impact the removal of four monuments under dispute in New Orleans.

He's asked his staff to research what can be done to establish a process for removal of monuments in the future.

The state legislature convenes for its regular lawmaking session in March.
