St. Claude Subway robbed at gunpoint

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Police are searching for the man caught on camera robbing a Subway restaurant.

According to NOPD, an unidentified black male entered the Subway located at 1601 Franklin Avenue around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 15 and ordered three cookies. Police said the unknown man paid the cashier, but then pulled a gun from his waistband and demanded money.

The cashier complied and the suspect fled from the restaurant with an unknown amount of cash from the register.

The armed robber is described as a black male in his 30s with a dark complexion. Witnesses say he is about 6'0" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a blue hard hat and green traffic vest at the time of the robbery. A surveillance photo of the suspect can be seen above.

Once apprehended, police say he will be booked with Armed Robbery.
