Benson's GMB Racing turns focus to Risen Star

New Orleans -

Coming off a 1-2 finish in the Lecomte Stakes, GMB Racing is looking forward to solidifying their chances in earning a Kentucky Derby spot.

Next up for Mo Tom and Tom's Ready is the Risen Star Stakes on Feb. 20. GMB is owned by Gayle Benson, wife of New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson.

Mo Tom is currently seventh in the Kentucky Derby standing with 12 points. He received 10 for his win in the Lecomte and two for his third place finish in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes in 2015.

Tom's Ready sits 18th in the Derby standings. The thoroughbred gained four points for his second-place finish in the Lecomte.

If all goes to plan, both horses will also race in the Louisiana Derby on March 26.
