Pearl Jam, Paul Simon, Van Morrison more big names coming to 2016 Jazz Fest

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Pearl Jam, Paul Simon and Snoop Dog, Stevie Wonder, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Neil Young will hit the stages of the 2016 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

Van Morrison, Steely Dan, Bob Seger, Beck, Bonnie Raitt, Michael McDonald, Mystikal are also among the big acts set to perform this year.

Also coming to Jazz Fest this year are Lauryn Hill, Gov't Mule, Boz Scaggs,  My Morning Jacket, Buddy Guy and Johnny Lang.

Festival organizers released the talent lineup and the daily schedules Tuesday morning for the 2016 festival at the New Orleans Fairgrounds April 22-24 and April 28 to May 1.

Topping the 2015 lineup was certainly a tall task for those booking the musical acts to appear the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May. But organizers have given it their best shot.

Last year saw Elton John, The Who, Ed Sheeran, No Doubt, Pitbull, Jimmy Buffett, Tony Bennett with Lady Gaga, and so many more.

More acts also include:  Elvis Castello & the Imposters, Julio Iglesias,  Herbie Hancock & Wayne Shorter, Maxwell,  Galactic, Janelle Monae, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Kermit Ruffins & The Barbeque Swingers, The Isley Brothers, Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly,  Grace Potter, Brandi Carlile, Aaron Neville, Arturo Sandoval, Ellis Marsalis, Irma Thomas, CeCe Winans, Taj Mahal, Terence Blanchard, Gregory Porter, John Hammond, Snarky Puppy, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk with Art Neville, Rebirth Brass Band, Jonathan Batiste, Big Freedia, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.
