BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) -

Leonard Fournette wowed college football in 2015 with his mix of speed, and brutal running style that generated 162 yards rushing a game. He was the favorite for the Heisman until he got stuffed by Alabama, only 43 yards on 19 carries. In the same contest Derrick Henry went for 213 yards rushing, and three touchdowns. Henry went on to capture the 2015 Heisman trophy.

Bovada, a sports betting firm, installed Deshaun Watson of Clemson as their 2016 Heisman preseason favorite. The Tiger quarterback combined for 478 yards against Alabama, losing 45-40 in a memorable title game. Watson's odds sit at 4.5-1.

Sitting right behind Watson at 5-1 odds is Fournette, and AP Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey.

Two other notable odds: at 12-1 is Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly, and at 16-1 is Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley.

LSU opens their 2016 season against Wisconsin. The matchup will take place in Green Bay on Sept. 3.

Today's work was much lighter between the Saints and Chargers was much lighter. They wore no pads only shells and helmets, and they only practiced two hours instead of two and a half like Thursday.
