Detectives: Teenager showing off gun accidentally shoots girl in Chalmette

CHALMETTE, LA (WVUE) - Bond was set at $25,000 for a 17-year-old accused of accidentally shooting a teenager in Chalmette.

Investigators say Andrew Carroll shot a 16-year-old girl Monday night while showing off a handgun in the 2000 block of Pecan Drive. The girl is hospitalized with a bullet wound behind the right ear.

Sheriff's detectives booked Carroll with negligent injury, illegal use of a weapon and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
