LSU loses #1 recruiting ranking to Ohio State

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

In all three major recruiting services: 247, ESPN, and Rivals; LSU held the top spot on Monday morning. Those rankings took a major shakeup in only 24 hours with Ohio State getting a trio of four-star verbal commitments.

Dwayne Haskins, a four-star quarterback out of Maryland, spurned LSU to commit with the Buckeyes. They also landed a wide receiver and linebacker that were highly coveted. This moved Ohio State to No. 1 in 247, and dropped LSU to No. 2.

Rivals also dropped the Tigers to second in favor of Urban Meyer's squad.

LSU still holds the top spot in ESPN's recruiting rankings, with Ole Miss right behind them.

The Tigers could grab that top spot back on Friday in Monroe. Five-star defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence out of Neville, announces his decision between LSU and Ohio State at 10:30 am.

Today's work was much lighter between the Saints and Chargers was much lighter. They wore no pads only shells and helmets, and they only practiced two hours instead of two and a half like Thursday.
