NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A mild night is ahead with temperatures only dropping into the mid and upper 50s. Thursday will be breezy and mild with highs reaching 70 in spots. The chance for showers and storms will increase as the day goes along. We do have a slight risk that a few of the storms could be strong to severe. The storms will end by midnight.
The next change will be our cold blast that arrives Thursday night and Friday. Friday's temperatures will remain in the 40s with cloudy skies and gusty north winds. It will feel like it's in the 30s all day.
Freezes will occur on the North Shore by Saturday morning and readings south of the lake will likely remain in the middle 30s. With sunshine on Saturday, highs will struggle to get out of the 40s again.
One of, if not the coldest night of the season, is likely by Sunday morning. Lows in the mid 20s on the north shore and around freezing on the south shore.
Look for some warming by early next week.
