The Centers for Disease Control launches a new campaign to help smokers kick the habit. The ad “Tips from former smokers” shares the personal stories of former smokers suffering from smoking-relating illnesses.
The campaign also highlights the national quit line, 1-800-QUIT-NOW. The hotline has been around since 2012, but recently CDC officials reported a 62% callers increase.
The national hotline is available in all 50 states. Workers encourage callers and provide tips for quitting. Since its initial launch the CDC have generated more than 600,000 calls.
