NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Rob Ryan's three year stay in New Orleans had some ups and downs, but no doubt it was memorable. His son Matt, who played center and defensive lineman at Newman, also had some eventful moments on the gridiron for the Greenies.
That strong play caught the notice of college recruiters who want him to play on the offensive line at the next level.
Ryan has scholarship offers from Southeastern Louisiana and Akron and he's visiting with Ohio this weekend. The middle child in the Ryan family also received preferred walk-on offers from: Auburn, Clemson, and Mississippi State. A preferred walk-on is guaranteed a spot on the 105-man roster, and doesn't have to tryout.
