Benson's horses stay in top 20 of Kentucky Derby standings

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Another week closer to the Kentucky Derby and another week with two GMB Racing horses in the top 20 standings.

The top 20 horses qualify for the Derby, and Mo Tom and Tom's Ready are in that number. Mo Tom sits at seven, and Tom's Ready is 19th. GMB is owned by Gayle Benson, wife of New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson.

Mo Tom currently has 12 points toward the Kentucky Derby. He received 10 for his win in the Lecomte, and two for his third place finish in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes in 2015. Tom's Ready gained four points for his second-place finish in the Lecomte.

Last week Tom's Ready was in 17th, but dropped two spots after the Smarty Jones at Oaklawn Park gave other top horses points.
