HOUMA, LA (WVUE) - Police in Houma arrested a 17-year-old man after they say he pointed a gun at his uncle, and threatened to kill him.
Tyrell McKinley, Jr. is charged with one count of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
According to Houma police, the incident took place Saturday morning in the 100 block of King street.
Police responded to the scene after they say they received a report of a disturbance with a gun.
When they arrived, police say a 52-year-old man told them his nephew, Tyrell, pulled a gun out, and threatened to kill him.
Shortly after, the victim told police Tyrell fled the area with the weapon, after family members told him they were calling the police.
During the investigation, Houma police say they learned that the victim and Tyrell got into an argument beforehand. Police say they don't know what the argument was about.
According to police, statements from witnesses matched the victim's account of what happened, as well as a description of Tyrell.
Houma Police officers found and arrested Tyrell on Samuel Street in Houma, shortly after the reported incident took place.
Tyrell was transported and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.
