NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Krewe of Orpheus has revealed its 2016 monarch.

Reigning over the Lundi Gras parade will be four-time People's Choice Award winner, Nathan Fillion.

Fillion is best known for his role as the title character Richard Castle in ABC's hit television series, "Castle," which is going into its 8th season and has aired more than 150 episodes. Joining Fillion on his ride will be his real-life leading lady, Krista Allen, star of CW's "Significant Mother."

Parade co-founder and native son Harry Connick, Jr. will be returning to ride with the Krewe of Orpheus for the 2016 parade. The Grammy & Emmy Award winning musician, actor, and "American Idol" judge will also make a special appearance at the Orpheuscapade.

Headlining the 2016 Orpheuscapade will be Chevy Metal featuring Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters fame. The 70's rock cover band is known for playing deep cuts off albums such as Van Halen, Queen, and Bryan Adams as well as their spontaneous concerts featuring Hawkins' Foo Fighter bandmates and other surprise celebrity musical guests.

Performing on the bill with Chevy Metal will be returning crowd favorites The Party Crashers and No Limits.

The Krewe of Orpheus' 27 pull units leading a 40 float caravan, 30 marching bands, and over 1,300 krewe members will parade under the theme The Wizard's Bestiary.

The parade will end at the Morial Convention Center where the Orpheuscapade, hosted by insult comedian and actor Bianca Del Rio -- named by Variety as a "10 Comics to Watch Class of 2015", will be underway.

The Krewe of Orpheus parade begins at 6 p.m. on February 8, 2016 and parades along the traditional Uptown route.
