Accused murder suspect surrenders to Kenner Police

KENNER, LA (WVUE) - A man accused of murder surrendered himself to detectives with the Kenner Police Department on Monday. However, investigators say 21-year-old Dayan Sanchez has refused to cooperate with a murder investigation that first started out as an illegal marijuana sale.

Sanchez, as well as 18-year-old Deleon "Del" Perrilloux and 21-year-old Tandi Hall remain in custody. Meantime, police are looking for another man, who they haven't identified.

According to police, Sanchez and the unidentified man agreed to meet Perrilloux, Hall and the victim, 19-year old Hykeem Martin on Friday in the 2100 block of 43rd Street. The trio allegedly planned to rob Sanchez at gunpoint during the drug sale at which point, investigators say Martin was fatally shot.

Sanchez was booked on several charges, including manslaughter, felony carrying of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies, and distribution of marijuana.
