HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

Officers say a burglary arrest gave them a break in another case.

The Houma Police Department said neighbors near Division Avenue confronted a man they caught rummaging through a vehicle, but he ran away. Officers caught up with the suspect, identified as Sallem Salah, a short time later.

Salah was also wanted in connection with a vehicle burglary on Elysian Drive. Detectives said surveillance video from Jan. 18 shows the 26-year-old and a second person, 23-year-old Alexus Bowman, using the victim's credit card.

Police booked Salah with simple burglary, unauthorized use of an access card and outstanding warrants. Bowman faces charges of unauthorized use of an access card.
