NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans City Planning Commission discusses its study that could legalize short-term rentals in the city of New Orleans.
The commission released draft rules last week and will discuss the study at its meeting this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the council chambers.
The draft regulations put nearly no restrictions on owner-occupied shotgun doubles, allowing the owner to live in one half, while renting out the other.
The rules would require all short-term rental operators to be licensed.
However, people who live on the property they rent will face far fewer restrictions.
The rules would have to be approved by the city council.
