Heavy downpours have been moving across the metro area this afternoon and evening. The heaviest rain will shift east of the area over the next hour or two. However, areas of light to moderate rain will continue off and on through this evening.
Overnight the rain will become more spotty but will continue into at least early Wednesday.
The other big story is the temperature drop coming this evening behind the front. Temperatures will fall into the 40s and 50s and likely stay there all day tomorrow. There will still be some spotty light rain tomorrow but the emphasis will be on the clouds and wind making it feel quite chilly.
On Thursday we will gradually clear out with highs still cool in the 50s after lows in the 30s and 40s. Another chilly morning on Friday but with lots of sun we will rebound into the 60s.
The warm-up will continue into the weekend with highs near 70 by Sunday. All of the parades from Friday into Sunday will be dry and pleasant. Comfy and cool in the evenings and mild for the afternoon rolls.
The next chance for rain will not be until at least next Tuesday.
